ABOUT US
Educational Assessment, Inc. (EA, Inc.) is a private company founded in 1992 to assist foreign nationals seeking admission to the United States. Primarily, we offer equivalency evaluations of foreign degrees and diplomas within the system of higher education in the United States. The evaluations provided by Educational Assessment, Inc. have been routinely accepted as expert opinions by the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) and other institutions for over 25 years.
Dr. Patricia Del Rey started EA, Inc. in response to a high demand for H-1B visas and the need for professionals in academia that could provide precise and accurate comparisons of foreign credentials to U.S. degrees and diplomas in relation to the H-1B and other visa petitions.
Connie Wilson, the current President and Owner, has been with the company since 1997. Ms. Wilson owned and operated her own business (1984–1991) and was a copyright specialist (1991–1997) prior to joining Educational Assessment, Inc. as a Junior Evaluation Specialist. She attended training seminars regarding the evaluation of foreign credentials for admission to U.S. colleges and universities conducted by the American Association of College Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) and in 1999, under the supervisions of Dr. Del Rey, she was promoted to Evaluation Specialist and became the co-manager of the company. In 2001, Ms. Wilson’s title changed to Manager & Evaluation Specialist, and she had had full charge of all day-to-day operations, including research, evaluations, training, and management. In 2005 she bought the company from her mentor and became the sole proprietor. Ms. Wilson has been a member of the Association of International Educators (NAFSA) since 2000.
The reference sources we use are created and accepted by U.S. university admissions officers, primarily AACRAO. These reference materials provide background information on foreign degree programs in all areas of the world. The USCIS relies heavily on the database published by AACRAO known as the Electronic Database for Global Education (EDGE), which is also one of our primary resources. In addition, our library contains all of the standard print resources, including the World Education Series (WES) and the Projects in International Education Research (PIER) reference books, as well as the most current publications of NAFSA, the International Association of Universities (IAU) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organizations (UNESCO). In addition, we are continuously conducting our own independent research and utilize a team of academic consultants in all disciplines to assist us and we review current admissions guidelines used by colleges and universities nationwide.
